Camila Cabello, Willow’s ‘Psychofreak’ Is This Week’s Favorite New Music – Billboard


Camila Cabello and Willow’s recent collab “Psychofreak” topped this week’s new music poll.

Music fans voted in a poll published Friday, April 8 on Billboardchoosing the edgy new single as their favorite new music release from the past week.

“Psychofreak” garnered 46% of the vote, beating out new music from Charlie Puth (“It’s Hilarious”), Jack Harlow (“First Class”), Lil Baby (“Right On”), Chlöe Bailey (“Treat Me ” ), and others.

“Psychofreak” finds the former Fifth Harmony member discussing his split from the band in 2016 during the track’s second verse. “Everybody say they miss the old me/ Been doing this ride since I was 15/ I don’t blame the girls for how it went,” the 25-year-old sings. She confirmed that the lyrics were about her leaving Fifth Harmony in an interview with Reuters, and noted that she was in a “really good place” with the other members.

Cabello was joined by Willow for the first TV performance of “Psychofreak” during saturday night live April 9.

The track is featured on Cabello’s third album, Family, which arrived on Friday. The pop star once said Billboard that the project is a celebration of his friends and loved ones.

“This album to me means community, I guess the opposite of yourself. It’s more you with other people sharing that joy and success, whatever that means,” she says. connectedness by realizing how important everyone is in your life. A lot of it is inspired by my relationships: my relationship with my family, my relationship with my friends, my relationship with my [then] partner… it’s about connecting with other people, hence Familia.

Puth’s latest song, “That Hilarious,” came second on last week’s tally with nearly 42% of the vote, in which the singer reflects on a difficult breakup. The 30-year-old artist is currently working on his next album, Charly.
