Festivals Acadiens et Créoles unveils the musical program for the October festival, the second event of 2022 | Music | Weekly Gambit

Festivals Acadiens et Créoles will hold their second free large-scale festival of 2022 when they return to Lafayette’s Girard Park in October for three days of Cajun and zydeco music, workshops, food and South Louisiana arts. . The Cajun and Creole Arts Festival takes place from Friday, October 14 through Sunday, October 16.

After Festivals Acadiens et Créoles was forced to cancel its 2020 and 2021 events due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, organizers have scheduled two free events for 2022, its 48th year. They hosted the three-day Spring Festival in March.

The fall festival is themed “Ensemble Encore, Ensemble Toujours” and kicks off at 5 p.m. on October 14 with the opening ceremony of The Cutting of the Boudin and music by Nathan & The Zydeco Cha Chas and Wayne Toups & ZydeCajun. Look below for the full music lineup.
